Leggett & Platt's Consumer Products
Unit was formed in 1995 by combining the activities of two existing
Leggett Divisions with a recent acquisition. Together the three
entities formed Leggett's Consumer Products unit. They were the
Fashion Bed Group, the
Consumer Products Division, and Vantage Industries.
The focus of the business Unit
was clear: to serve the consumer through the retail community, with
those products produced and/or distributed by Leggett, that are sold
as packaged end-products directly to the retail community. Leggett &
Platt's ornamental and bedding support product lines are marketed as
Fashion Bed Group.
Fashion Bed Group is the
largest, and most innovative, supplier of fashion beds, daybeds,
futons, bunk beds, bed frames, and bedding support products in North
America today. Its beds are manufactured of genuine brass, plated
brass, cast zinc, cast aluminum, steel, iron, wood, wicker and rattan.
Fashion Bed Group was created
in 1991 by consolidating three leading bed manufacturers. In 2003,
Leggett consolidated the sales and marketing of its bedding support
product lines into Fashion Bed Group. Fashion Bed Group's products are
distributed from warehouses located in Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA,
Houston, TX, Ennis, TX and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
